(Electricity Master)

Mage / Champion tries to let the electricity-based spells of the Mage get to the forefront, as opposed to most builds that embrace their fire-casting capabilities. Perhaps the greatest thing this combination provides are the tremendous amounts of stuns, making it one of the most dangerous classes to go up against in PvP. While generally less effective in PvE situations, Mage / Champion can also provide explosive damage... but, if the tank is too slow at drawing aggro, you might find a group of mobs suddenly on top of you.

Intelligence is the strongest stat for this combo, though Wisdom and Stamina are also important, and if someone has the time a very gimmicky hybrid build can be designed including Strength; however, a gimmick is a gimmick, and is strongly discouraged. Plasma Arrow is the cornerstone of the build.

Main Ways of Build[ | ]

Arguably the most effective way to play is to use as much stunning and other control effects as possible.

  • Lightning roots enemies, which will prevent them from effectively running away and making them an easy target for focused fire, and alternatively can be used for kiting purposes;
  • Discharge will stun anything that tries to get on top of you, letting you escape, though it can also be used after rooting someone to lock them down;
  • Static Field is similar to Discharge, except it lasts longer (at least until the target takes damage) and can be used from a distance. At higher levels it imposes a movement speed penalty, which helps with kiting and chasing;
  • Electrostatic Charge can be used either for setting up a Discharge Stun, or for kiting purposes;
  • Champion provides Electrocution, which interrupts spellcasting, and Shock Strike, which is yet another source of stun.

When an enemy is properly stunned, it will allow the player to make the most of Ion Storm and Lightning Shield. While on top of an enemy Ion Storm will deal large amounts of Wind Damage, and the enemy, so desperate to attack, will use every skill they have, triggering the damage of Lightning Shield and potentially spiking themselves when a Voltage Seize is triggered. This makes Mage / Champion an annoying, dangerous, and vicious enemy in PvP, and consequently less useful in PvP.

Shock Strike Shock Strike 20 25 rage Instant 6 seconds Cone (R: 100) Inflicts 75.0%..417% main hand weapon physical DPS on multiple targets within a range of 100 in a fan-shaped area in front of you. Also Stuns targets for 1.0 seconds.

If used while in a Shield Form, then there is an extra increase of aggro caused by this skill.
