Die in a fire;

Definition[edit | edit source]

An expression of extreme contempt and disgust.

Examples[edit | edit source]

  • "Just go diaf, would you?"
  • "I wish he'd diaf."

Mechanics[edit | edit source]

The term most likely originates from the game World of Warcraft, in which a particularly vicious raid leader would repeatedly tell people to "go die in a fire" upon failing encounters in the Molton Core. It was later ressurected when Blizzard released the encounter Archimonde, in which you received no damage to your equipment if you died in the fire effect on the ground, and thus every time the group was sure to wipe, people were in fact encouraged to go "die in a fire".
