Common Recipes[ | ]

There are two ways to learn new Production or Refining recipes:

  • You can learn some basic recipes directly from your Crafting Skill Instructors. There is a degree of overlap in the level ranges sold by the various instructors.
    • Recipes from 1 to 10 may be bought from Beginner instructors in the starting zones for each race.
    • Recipes from 1 to 20 may be bought from Novice instructors in Varanas.
    • Recipes from 1 to 40 may be bought from Expert instructors in Varanas.
    • Recipes from 41 to 55 may be bought from Novice instructors in the Crafting Square of Obsidian Stronghold.
    • Recipes from 81 may be bought from Legend instructors in the Crafting Square of Obsidian Stronghold (Armorcrafting, Blacksmithing, Carpentry, and Tailoring) or Varanas Lower City West (Alchemy) and Varanas Lower City East (Cooking)
  • You may be able to buy recipes from merchants during your travels, or even find them as drops From monsters you slay.
  • Many of the gaps in the above, especially 60+, can be purchased from Recipe Merchants (this table lists all of the Recipe Merchants, by craft and level range)

Many Good Recipes are dropped by Instance Bosses throughout Taborea. They may also, of course, be found for sale on the Auction House. Some are dropped by specific mobs found in normal hunting. See Dropped Good Recipes by Zone for a list by level and zone.

Crafting Festival Recipes[ | ]

During the annual Crafting Festival, Recipes are sold that are only usable with special ingredients they sell, and these special recipes earn much more Profession XP than usual and all the products stack. It can be expensive to learn this way, but it makes Crafting skill progression much faster than normal. These recipes start at level 15 and proceed every 10 levels through 65.

Material Chests[ | ]

Beginning at level 5, the four Equipment professions will start utilizing Material Chests. These chests contain many of the Materials needed to complete crafting projects for that profession, and as the skill rises, every 5 levels, so do the materials. A better grade of product also requires a better grade of materials.

For example, at level 5 an Armorcrafter can make a Ic Simple Recruit Apprentice's Armor Chest, Ic Functional Recruit Apprentice's Armor Chest, or Ic Fine Recruit Apprentice's Armor Chest, which may be required to make an Armorcrafting recipe from levels 5 to 9. At level 10 he needs to prepare a Ic Simple Junior Apprentice's Armor Chest, Ic Functional Junior Apprentice's Armor Chest, or Ic Fine Junior Apprentice's Armor Chest for the creation of products from levels 10 to 14.

At level 85 it becomes a little simpler, requiring a Good grade chest for any recipe that needs a Materials Chest. On the downside, every 2-3 levels requires a new Chest recipe.
