The name "Dragon" covers many different specific races, or sub-races, of Dragons, including everything from Drakes to the great True Dragons. The differences vary from the subtle to the profound.
At the Apex of the family tree is definitely the True Dragons, immortal beings of immense elemental power. If, during incubation, a dragon egg is fed Elemental Power, and if enough Elemental Power is reached, the embryo hatches as a True Dragon.
