Elite Skills are a set of special skills characters have access to depending on their class combination.

Overview[ | ]

Each class has a set of Class-Specific Skills and a set of General Skills that they may learn as they level and then train up using TP. Elite Skills are a set of Class-Specific Skills, learned every 5 levels starting at 15, that are unique to particular class combinations. A character with both the Warrior and Rogue classes, for instance, has different Elite Skills than a character with the Mage and Scout classes, and a Mage/Scout has a different set of Elite Skills than a Mage/Priest.
both classes must be at the level for the elite skill. If you have a mage/priest with the mage at level 25 and priest at level 15 you will only be able to learn the level 15 elites. You will be able to learn the level 20 and 25 elites when you get the priest up to level 20 and 25.

Regardless of the name, Elite Skills are not necessarily powerful, must-have skills. They are moderately difficult to learn, however, and help to further differentiate dual-class character experiences. All Elite Skills are Class-Specific, but you can learn both sets as long as you supply the materials for certificates to an Elite Skills Master while having the necessary class set as your primary.

Levels 60 and 70 require a quest series started by an Elite Skills Master in your home city. That means Varanas City, Obsidian Stronghold, Valley of Preparation, Morfantas City, or Heffner Camp.

How to Learn Elite Skills[ | ]

Dwarves, Levels 15 to 50[ | ]

Dwarves still need Skill Training Certificates Skill Training Certificates, but they need to talk to Sayen Glin in Heffner Camp or Pulin Shadowhammer [Elite Skills Master] in Morfantas City. You will need to do Bag Quests to get as many Old Bags Old Bags as you need.

At 15, 20, and 25 he does NOT take the certificate, so you only need ONE per level instead of one per level per class combo. Because of this, you need only get Old Bag Old Bag ×8 (you can get a few extra, because everyone messes up at least once).

Sometime in 2020 or 2021 they fixed this. You still have to talk to Pulin Shadowhammer [Elite Skills Master], but now he consumes the Certificates just like every other Elite Skills Master, so you need one for each class combo.

At level 50 you only need one Old Bag Old Bag for each class pair. All lower Elite Skills must be obtained for levels 15 to 45 for BOTH classes, then a single Old Bag Old Bag will give you both class Elite skills for level 50.

Old Method[ | ]

Levels 15 to 45[ | ]

Speak to an Elite Skills Master, such as Sigg Fletcher or Listi Pursdon in the Varanas Class Hall. He will request that you obtain some specific materials to trade for a Skill Training Certificate Skill Training Certificate for your level. Use it and ask the Master to train you.

See Skill Training Certificate Skill Training Certificate for a listing of the quests and materials needed.

Level 50[ | ]

Note: This series is a pre-requisite to [50] Making an Epic Weapon. Although it says you must have your level 50 Elite Skills, this is how it knows. You cannot bypass this step for the easier, newer path if you want your level 50 Epic weapon (aka Moa Weapon).

  2. [50] Fearlessness of the Arkana - Kill specific targets in Pasper's Shrine and Necropolis of Mirrors
  3. [50] Ambition of the Arkana - Kill specific targets in Ystra Labyrinth, Ruins of the Ice Dwarf Kingdom, and Mystic Altar
  4. [50] Memory of the Arkana - Kill specific targets in Treasure Trove, Pasper's Shrine, and Kalin Shrine
  5. [50] Wisdom of the Arkana - Kill specific targets in Winternight Valley and Kalin Shrine
  6. [50] Toughness of the Arkana - Kill specific targets in Dust Devil Canyon
  7. [50] Soul of the Arkana - Perform a task specific to your Primary Class

You will also need a Rune Energy Extractor Rune Energy Extractor.

New Method (15 to 50)[ | ]

In the Coast of Opportunity and Xaviera, you will come across quests that reward an Old Bag Old Bag - these quests are infinitely repeatable and usually require you to use special abilities to achieve an objective.

Upon opening the bag, if both of your class levels are sufficient to learn a new elite skill, you will receive a Lv. X Elite Skill Certificate (Lv. 15, Lv. 20, etc.). Remember that you get two elite skills at each level point, based on your Primary/secondary classes. For an example, let's say you are a Mage/Warrior. You will get two skills at level 15/15. One for your level 15 M/W (Magical Talent), and a second for your level 15 W/M (Electrical Rage Electrical Rage). You must switch Primary/secondary before you open the Old Bag Old Bag. If you mess this up all you will find in the bag is some gold, and you will need a new Old Bag Old Bag to try again.

These certificates can be turned in to Lowen Dunlit in Coast of Opportunity at Heffner Camp to learn the skill for your primary/secondary class combination. At level 50, you will need to have all the Elite Skills (of primary and secondary class) before level 50 to learn it. Also, at level 50, you need only one Old Bag Old Bag, as the skill you get will be unique to the intersection of your two classes.

Of course, this becomes more complicated if you have 3 or more classes but the rules above still apply.

To get ALL your elite skills you will need a total of Old Bag Old Bag ×15 for 2 classes, or Old Bag Old Bag ×45 for 3 classes.

Note: Shadowforge Dwarves still need Skill Training Certificates Skill Training Certificates, but they have their own Elite Skills Master, Sayen Glin, in Heffner Camp or Pulin Shadowhammer in Morfantas City.

Note: Do NOT do this Old Bag Old Bag method for level 50 IF you want to do the Arkana Quests and the Moa's Epic Weapons! Moa Weapon quests are unlocked by the last Arkana quest ([50] Soul of the Arkana).

Level 60[ | ]

An email arrives that directs you to go speak with Daris [Leader of Adventurers' Association].

When both your Primary AND Secondary classes are at least 60, speak to the NPC to start a quest series that will award you the Elite Skills. You will receive 2 skills at the same time.

Daris [Leader of Adventurers' Association] at the Varanas Class Hall

  1. [60] Adventurers' Guild Advancement Notice - Speak to Laath Tawan at the Goblin Farm in Silverspring
  2. [60] Friendship Test (repeatable for additional level 60 classes)
  3. [60] Courage Test (repeatable for additional level 60 classes)

DO NOT USE/OPEN/READ THE BOOK, Proof of Progress Proof of Progress! Hold onto it 'til you reach 70/70 and use it then to bypass the test/quest for your level 70 Elites! This IS considered an exploit and discussion of this tip/trick is forbidden on the RoM Forums and Discord server. I include this information only because they are well aware of this and have never fixed it, and we doubt they will ever bother to do so. In my book, that means it can no longer be considered an exploit.

IF YOU HAVE THREE (or more) CLASSES you could use the above book at level 60 to get the elite skills for ONE Tertiary Class. Just be sure to change to your third class before you read the book. This is a totally legal use of the book and is not an exploit, but if you choose or need to you can also repeat the above series of quests for each additional level 60 class. You could even do the quests once and get skills for your THIRD and FOURTH classes (and so on).

Level 70[ | ]

An email arrives that directs you to go speak with Daris [Leader of Adventurers' Association]. Daris directs you to speak to Votakai.

When both your Primary AND Secondary classes are at least 70, speak to the NPC to start a quest series that will award you the Elite Skills. You will receive 2 skills at the same time.

If you have not already, it is highly recommended that you drop some ink at Sanctuary of Balance and Fallen Throne of Embers (where the dragon is sleeping) the first time you visit them. If you have not, you are gonna wish you did.

Votakai in Chrysalia at the Sanctuary of Balance

  3. [70] Protect "Sleepwalking"
  4. [70] Awaken!?
